This Privacy Policy explains how the AD IMPORTER Chrome extension ("the Extension") handles information. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
1. What the Extension Does
The Extension reads product data (title, price, images, description, and variations) from Target.com product pages and sends that data directly to your own WooCommerce store via the AD IMPORTER WordPress plugin.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect No tracking
The Extension does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of the following:
- Personally identifiable information (name, email, address, etc.)
- Browsing history or web activity
- Financial or payment information
- Authentication credentials (other than what you enter in Settings — see below)
- Location data
- Any data sent to third-party servers
3. Data Stored Locally in Your Browser
The Extension saves the following two values in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local):
- Your WordPress site URL — so you do not need to re-enter it every session.
- Your secret key — the password you set in the AD IMPORTER WordPress plugin, used to authenticate imports to your own site.
This data is stored only on your device. It is never sent to us or any third party.
4. Website Content Read by the Extension
When you use the Scan function, the Extension reads product page content from Target.com — including text, images, and structured data (JSON-LD). This data is used only to populate the import form and is sent directly to your own WordPress/WooCommerce site. It is not stored by us and not sent anywhere else.
5. Permissions Used and Why
- activeTab & scripting — To read product data from the Target.com page you are currently viewing.
- storage — To save your WordPress URL and secret key locally on your device.
- sidePanel — To display the import interface alongside the product page.
- tabs — To detect when you navigate to a new Target.com product page and auto-scan it.
- target.com host access — To read product data from Target.com pages.
- Your WordPress site host access — To send product data directly to your own WooCommerce store.
6. No Third-Party Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or transfer any user data to third parties. All communication is solely between your browser and your own WordPress site.
7. No Remote Code
The Extension does not load or execute any remote code. All scripts are bundled within the extension package.
8. Children's Privacy
The Extension is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we update this Privacy Policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.
